Store Visit: IKEA in the Philippines?

Palanan, Makati City

Yes, IKEA found its way to the Philippines!

We learned of IKEA’s existence here in Manila from other blog sites and they are too many to mention and that′s even way before this blog was conceived. As far as we know, there are already three IKEA stores in  Metro Manila. We were able to visit one them a few weeks back.  It’s the one at 4977 Enriquez Street in Palanan, Makati.

We decided to go back there last Sunday hoping that the Tertial Work Lamp is still available. We have always wanted to buy that lamp that is looking like a Pixar′s logo since we saw it during our first visit and yes, we got lucky as it was still there! We are happy and got it for P 1,500.00.  (We will blog about it on a separate item soon) .

The pictures above are taken from the store we first visited and here is the address.

Mayflower1620 Enterprise - Makati
4977 Enrique St. Palanan, MakatiCity
Tel No.: 833.5590
Mobile:0917.8131201

Other store we intend to visit next time is:

Mayflower 1620 Enterprise - New Manila

23 A Cavalry Hills St., Rolling Hills
9th Street, New Manila, Quezon City
Tel.No.: 774-1780
Mobile:0917-8252407

Now, we really have to say that this is so cool! At least these importers managed to bring a few of those popular Swedish household products and furnitures to sell to  Filipinos and still their prices are considerable. True to its tag line "you don′t have to be rich to be clever", thus this should really be perfect for the Pinoys. Though, the range of choices are understandably limited as compared to Singapore’s Ikea at Alexandra Road where in an entire building with several floors is only for them and them alone and not to mention the meatballs they serve in their café … o boy, how we wish it is here!

hi guys! i came across ikea when i received an ikea bed sheet from my sister abroad. since then, i became a fun! i am a student i am constantly looking for ways on how to finance my studies and then i realized that i don't have to look that far kasi i can always sell ikea products here in baguio! however, when i read about their franchise requirements, i was dumbfounded (since it requires a substantial investment). pero sabi nga, kung gusto may paraan, kung ayaw, may dahilan. i am planning to go to manila next week and buy some stuff which i could sell here in baguio and my next goal is to be able to go to singapore and buy the stuff there myself and ship them to the philippines. i do not know if this plan is okay pero i feel na eto na lang talaga paraan kasi i cannot afford to have a franchise. it's way to expensive. any suggestions to a budding businessman here? he he he he. thanks so much and God bless!

cool! more pics.

I'm a big fan of Ikea for two reasons, first because you get to assemble stuff yourself and the good value you get from their stuff.

The meatballs and soft ice cream is also another reason.. hehehe

Sige borrow kita pero paisa-isa lang, hahaha! I do get ideas from the catalogue like my closet, duon ko nakuha yung design. My brother's the one who sends me those catalogues. Wala pa nga akong 2008 issue.I have some of the items na nasa pics dito like the dragon toy and I used it decorate the headboard ng bed namin.

If ever I do need to move out soon and look for a new place, can you show me around? I have this egg-shaped lam I bought in Sta. Lucia years back. I got it for 800! I'm hoping I can get another one for a cheaper price.

I've been comparing the prices from IKEA online, it's a bit higher compared from the source. Still, it's a lot cheaper compared to other home furnishing stores. I also consider the quality. :D
