Around the Metro: Evangelista

Aside from what they are selling, there is nothing new in Evangelista literally. Same old crowded and narrow streets, the lingering smell of old furniture, old books, ukay ukay, and street food, these are all exciting for us. Here are some pictures of Evangelista we took during our expedition last week.

We went to Evangelista with no particular reasons at all other than just to check out the shops to see what’s "new”. Then blog about it. Why not???

Everything they sell in Evangelista is all used and old where to some, these are more than appealing simply because 1) these are inexpensive but can still be refurbished and 2) they’re just inspired by others who came up with something new out of these used and old stuff from these kind of places.

It′s late and we′re tired already as we′re writing this and we can only think of these blah... We want to leave it up to you if there is a third reason, a fourth and so on. We welcome your comments!

We have a related blog item about some Things We Find Interesting in Evangelista.

ive always liked the idea of people putting up together old stuff. you know. as a designer myself i would love to try it but there is just something about 'old' stuff. im a fan of antiquity but more of admiration and not to the extent of collecting them. my point is, old stuff were held/touched/owned by other people already. good or bad, cursed or blessed; having said that, i am no traditional and superstitious stud (wink) but.... ano pa nga ba...

Hi Glenn, there are so many things you can find in Evangelista that you can turn into something brand new. Take for example the chairs on this post, if you paint it in white or give it an antique finish and re upholster it with a modern fabric, it'll definitely look brand new.

Great idea on the capiz window making it a s a divider. Good job! :D

Hey Allan Ken, I just recently discover that there is a White Elephant (trash for other but might be a treasure for you)things in Evang, these past few days I am hooked to visit the place, perfect timing for the renovation of our house. Got the capiz window, made it as divider over our dining and the drop light (the one looks feeding bottle)hanged it in our dining table, got it for 2,500 only while it is priced 15k in glorietta. And the Baul, so love it, converted its usage to rice storage. I think when you see all those abubot in Evang, you can be creative to make it useful and beautify your home sweet home.

Miagurl, maybe you can share that to us? :) take pictures of it, i-post natin?

Jesse, thanks! We wanted to buy the sofa but there's no more space for it in our pad. Soon, we will post some interesting Christmas decors. Visit this blog again soon.

Cliff thanks! Kala mo puro nininok na parts ng kotse lang mabibili sa evangelista no?

Tetta, i thought you'll lend me the catalogs? Mmm problem though, I resigned from Manila Team already so I wont be there every Fridays anymore... Avenida will be our next stop then. Thanks!
