Upside Down Christmas Tree

We have just started decorating our pad. We are now ready for Christmas.

It′s a challenge to decorate a small room like ours. And so not to clutter anymore, we decided to hang our Christmas tree from its base on the ceiling like a chandelier. This is also practical if you want to keep your pets or kids from your tree, plus you′ll have more room for presents to stock below it.

This is actually not an original concept. Hanging fir trees upside down goes back to the Middle Ages, when Europeans did it to represent the Trinity. Follow this link to read more about upside down Christmas tree.

just saw an upside down Christmas tree in one of those stores at the 4th floor of Megamall (i should have paid more attention to the name)- same floor as Fitness First going towards the grocery side.

Hi Nathan, don't be sorry my friend, we just decided to hang our Christmas tree upside down for the following reasons:
1) Space saver; because we are lacking space in our pad :(
2) To keep Marsha away from it. You know how dogs are... :)

We're actually glad to discover this link that has nice things to say about upside down christmas tree:

We don't know much about Feng Shui and we didn't have Feng Shui into consideration not only in decorating but in our day to day life. Will that bring us bad luck or sad christmas? By far, except for the global economic crunch (stretched! hehe), all signs are still up for us.

Your comment is amazing as always! Because of that, Feng Shui is another topic we are now considering in our coming post.

I hope there are readers who are feng shui experts that will educate us with it.

Hi Rick, we drilled 4 holes on the ceiling and put hooks into it. The hooks will help anchor the 4 legs of the tree and help prevent it from swaying.

It took me some time to drill the holes since the ceiling is made of concrete. I even broke the drill bit... hehehe...
