It′s nice to be back to blogging again. We have been away from home for a vacation for a week in Hong Kong to take a much deserved break from work but we made sure to bring home something worthy to blog about our wonderful discoveries.
First stop, Times Square in Causeway Bay. We′re thrilled to see the exhibition of Carrie Chau′s artworks and sculptures of alien children called "Indigo Child" inside the Time Square mall.
Having limited facts to write about the artist and her Indigo Child exhibit, we searched the ever dependable internet that led us to this wonderful blog named Perspective by Rachel Lee, a PR professional and a blogger who is now based in Malaysia. Here is a few about the artist according to Rachel Lee:
Carrie Chau is a Hong Kong native, educated at the Polytechnic University of Hong Kong and later United Kingdom’s Kent Institute of Art & Design. From her art book “black sheep,” she had wrote describing herself and her art-”Carrie loves the many compositions of herself: the unreachable daughter, the upper hand girlfriend, the unctontrollable illustrator and unreasonable merchandiser, and last but not least, where she spendsthe bulk of her time, Homeless (the lifestyle concept store) main illustrator and developer of the Wun Ying Collection, focusing on the original artworks to its production line.”

We didn′t quite know how we got inside the Times Square because we didn′t have any agenda that day. But what we remember was we only wanted Chinese food for breakfast upon setting our feet on Causeway Bay fashion walk but instead, we traversed our way to Mc Donald′s and had hotcakes. Argh! Then after, we just strolled down the streets and enjoyed the cool weather and entertained ourselves watching the fashionistas passed us by at Causeway Bay′s fashion walk. We checked some stores and high-end shops and then we had our way to Times Square unknowingly. We′re glad, we went inside to see this wonderful Indigo Child exhibition. We regret though that we didn′t even buy anything from the exhibit. Maybe next time... eBay perhaps. |
